Quotes

You seek my redemption, a fool's errand.

Then I must be the most foolish of them all because I won't stop looking, not now, not ever.

Why do you reach so far? Why can't you accept life as it is?

I reach because I know with effort it can be reached, that even the tallest trees must come to an end. To accept life as it is, that is simply ridiculous, because you know it can and will be more if you nuture it. That is what your redemption is, a tiny seed in need of nourishment. I will provide it, even if it kills me, you will not stop me, nothing will.

Testing....(Saving Silla cont..)

"Dezirell, wait!" Joselyn shouts.
" What?" I ask.
"You almost forgot your prayer robe."
My prayer robe? I think. How could I have almost forgot that? I could be killed right on the spot for not wearing it out side. She pulls out my silky black robe. It covers most of my body.
"Thanks." I say.
"Hurry, we got to hurry." Joeslyn pants. Running very fast. Before we know it we are there. There, is a purple building. I mean purple purple, that purple.
A old man stands on the balcony. His beard is so fluffy and white, that I think he's wearing a bunny. It's Gwendovier  Rasmussen, the ruler of Silla. A.K.A. the Master.
"Welcome to the 2014th Annual Testing Day." He says.
He's probably that old himself, I thought.
"In a few moments, you will be instructed to your testing rooms. Once you are there, you will be tested. You will be tested in the mind, body, and emotions. I strongly encourage that you do your absolute best for the sake of the program. Now let us bring on the day!" Rasmussen shouted.
"Bring on the day!" I shouted with the others, as we kneeled down to pray. We kissed the ground.
"Oh blessed Master. We thank you for the food you give us. The protection you give us. We bless thee. Long live the Master." We chorused throughout.
Then, I stood up. And followed the other 16 year olds, down a dark hallway. But before I went. I looked up at Gwendovier  Rasmussen, he glared harshly back. And I went into the darkness, with the smell of medicine burning my nostrils.

Goodbye..... Forever? (Stolen)

Vara's POV

Meliza and I pretend we are sipping tea with the queen of Cynara. Which, is were we live. Well, sort of, we live on the edge. We live near Evadine Province. Queen Celandia was a gorgeous young woman with darkish blonde hair and Caribbean blue eyes, just me, Mamma told me.
"More tea, Meliza?" I asked, the small porcelain girl.
Silence echoed through out.
"No then." I said. I looked down at the ground glumly. I was always so lonely. No one ever wanted to play with me. Anomaly, they whispered behind my back. She carries too much power. She will be the end of us all, some of the teachers feared. I truly was alone.
I glanced over at the fields. The workers had to work more than ever, because of such the surplus of harvest. I noticed Mamma picking apples. She wipes sweat off her brow. She turns in my direction, looks at me in the eye, and smiles. It makes me smile. I see her hold up her hand, the sign for love. I love you, she's saying. I signal her back. She blows me a kiss. I catch it and clutch it close to my heart. She smiles. Then, I look over in the other direction. Papa is plowing the grass. He stops for a short rest and looks at me. I wave slowly. Hoping not to drive to much attention to myself. A bell rang in the distance. Play time was over. I took one last glance at my parents and headed inside. I was greeted with a hard shove against the wall.
A chorus of laughter filled the hallway.
"Oops. Sorry Vara, I didn't see you there. I thought for sure you were one of the trash cans." Masie Giddions said.
I ignored her, Masie was always "mistaking" me for a trash can.
"What ever, Masie." I said.
"What did you say to me?" She asked.
"Nothing." I muttered.
"It better have been nothing." She said.
I walked off before things could get anymore dramatic. I sat quietly in class for the rest of the day. Finally, the bell rang. School was official done for the day. I ran outside. The workers stood up and left for the day. I saw Mamma and Papa coming towards me.
"Mamma, Papa." I shouted.
I ran towards them.
"Oh my dear Vara." Papa said, as he scooped me up in to his arms. Mamma kisses me on the cheek. I giggle. I look over at the school. Masie and her mother were embracing. She glared at me harshly. Her violet eyes pierced mine. I was encompassed in coldness rippling throughout my body, chilling me to the bone. She turns away. The vision of her malicious violet eyes was imprinted in my mind.
When we get home, I just lay on my bed. Mamma hops on the bed right next to me.
"How was your day, little goose?" She asks.
"Good." I say. And we just lay cuddling for a while in each other's embrace.
Finally, we sit up when we hear a knock on the door. Papa goes to answer the door. A man in a guards outfit stands at their looking very impatient.
"Can I help you?" Papa asks the Jude.
I see Mamma's body tense.
"Ceyx Giroux?" He asks.
Papa nods.
"I'm here for Kassandra Ekaterina Valencia-Giroux and Vara Maeve Giroux." He says, stepping into our house.
I clutch Mamma's arm tightly.
"There must be some sort of a mistake. They aren't supposed to go in for another 4 years. My daughter, she's only 8." Papa says urgently.
"No. Miklyn Monrone wishes them to come now." He says grabbing Mamma's arm.
Mamma stays planted.
"Let go of me." She screams.
His grip hardens on her.
He doesn't stop. He continues to drag us out. Without saying goodbye to Papa or anybody. It just looks like goodbye forever.

The Lonely Stable Boy....

This story is told from both of Emilia's parents. When they first fell for each other.
Alexandra's POV
Dear Diary,
Life in Malvania is rather complicated. Mother constantly insists on me finding a suitor. But, I don't think I can go through with it. I want to marry for love, not just any love, true love. I don't want to marry for riches or for the approval of my family. No, I want to find love, and perhaps someday, go on an adventure.
Father agrees with mother always. I thinks it's because he's afraid of her. One never knows. I do hope someday, that I can sway him, to not marry me away.
That reminds me, today one of my closest friends, Matilda got betrothed. She didn't seem to pleased, but she can't go against her father's wishes, it is law. I just don't see how much longer I can follow law, it's too constricting for my liking. Anyway, she tells me that I am to be a bridesmaid at her wedding ceremony. How fantastic is that? And I just know she'll ask Jo to be one to. Jo (Josephina) is my other closest friend, we have been the best of friends since what seemed like forever. Mother doesn't approve of her, but then again she never likes anything. To take my mind off it, she wants me to go riding. Like riding will clear my head. My mind wants what my mother can not provide for me, imagination. And just letting me be me.
Well, diary hopefully we will meet again soon. Until next time. Au Revior! (Goodbye.)
Alex.

I left the black leather journal under a board in the floor. You can never be to careful. I ran out the door. Stomping down the stairs.
"Alexandra! Stop running this instant." Mother said, furiously.
I stopped right in front of the door.
"And look at you. Your hair is a mess. The only thing your actually doing right is your clothing."
"Mother, please stop nagging. I'm only going to be seen by Richard and the other stable boys. Besides, only blondes worry about their hair so much. And I'm a brunette. Nothing to worry about." I say. Edging closer to the door.
Mother gasps at my blonde comment. I would assume as much, because she is in fact a blonde. Her hair falls down to her waist in honey colored ringlets. She always wears her hair in an ancient Greek style braid. It seems a little odd to me, but that's coming from someone who is currently wearing a dismantled braid. Mother's eyes are always cool and glassy. I can't tell what she is feeling ever. It's like she's purposely locking me out.
"Well, see you later." I say as I open the door.
"Oh and Alexandra, be sure to come straight home after your done. Your father and I have some thing to discuss with you." Mother calls after me.
"Sure," I yell over my shoulder. And I run of to the stables. When I reach the stables, Richard is waiting for me.
"Your Highness," he says, after a slight bow.
"There is no need to be formal Richard, call me Alex." I say. He smiles.
"Well, Alex. I believe that Rose is waiting for you. And what's that other name, Matti and Sislencé are waiting for you." He says.
"What?" I exclaim.
"They are by Zaem Forest."
"Thank you." I say, hugging him.
"Your welcome." He says, pulling away.
"See you later," I say.
"Yea. See you."
I rush out to Zaem Forest,

Sealed and Broken....

Emilia's POV

Tears were all over my face. I screamed. Elias' arms were holding me a second later. He rocked me back and forth.
"Hush now. It's okay. Your safe now." He crooned. I sobbed quietly into his chest. Clutching him tight.
"Terrifying..... They hated me." I said between breaths.
"Sshh. Don't talk right now, just sleep." he said soothingly. The rocking was so comforting, that I forgot all about my dream before. I soon found myself sleeping in his warm embrace.

I awoke for the first time at 2 a.m. I heard shuffling downstairs. I looked around for Elias, he wasn't here. I got up and went to look for him. I peered through the door to see if anyone was there. No living being could be seen. Carrie must still be asleep. After that, I crept quietly and swiftly down the stairs. The light in the kitchen was on. Elias just probably wanted a snack. But that did not seem to be the case as I edged closer. Elias was indeed there but not alone. Nate was there with him. They were arguing.
"How could you let her back into our house?" Nate was whispering.
"Nate, you now as well as I that you don't deny family from your home." Elias said.
"She is not family. She is the farthest thing from it. She abandoned us, Elias."
I became aware that they were arguing about me.
"She didn't abandon us. She went and lived her life, is that so bad? And besides you at least in one part of your life called her your family."
"Shut up!" Nate shouted.
"Shh. You'll wake up Emilia and Carrie."
"Why do you care about her so much anyway? Do you love her?" Nate snarled.
"She is my family, same as you and Carrie. Now be quiet and go to your room." Elias whispered very crossly.
"You do, don't you."
"That's enough Nathaniel. Go to your room."
"If father was here he would never do this."
"If you remember, the one we used to call father beat us half to death."
Nate stormed of. He almost ran into me as he went to his room. I pressed my back against the wall as far as I could. Nate turned for a second as if he knew someone was there. Then shrugged it of and began his storm once more. I let out a sigh, but I hadn't realized that Elias was still there.
"Emilia?" He had gotten a glimpse of me.
I came out of the shadows.
"Did you hear everything?"
I nodded. There was no point in lying to Elias.
"He didn't mean it you know. He's just angry."
"I know," I said.
"Are you feeling any better? You had a pretty nasty nightmare."
"Yea." I said yawning.
"Geez, what time is it?" He said staring at the oven's digital clock.
2:37.
"We better get you to bed." He said as he scooped me up and walked up the stairs.
He laid me in his bed once more.
"What about you?" I whispered.
"Don't worry about me. I'm going to stop any more nightmares from hurting you." He said smiling.
"How do you plan on doing that?" I say sleeply.
"With my bare hands of course."
I let out a small laugh as sleep cocoons me once again,

The second time I woke up, I think it was around 10 a.m. Carrie jumped on me.
"Up! Up! Time to get up!" She shouted.
I got up.
"Carrie, stop it. She's trying to sleep. She had a rough night." Elias shouts from the doorway.
I sit up and rub my eyes.
"Sorry if I woke you up. You can go back to sleep if you want." Carrie said sadly.
"Don't ever apologize for that Carrie. And why would I ever want to go back to sleep when there's fun to be had?" I asked.
She giggles.
"Breakfast is ready." She says.
"Good, because I'm starving. We need to get to get dressed, though."
She nods.
I stand up with Carrie's hand in mine. I wave my hand around us. And magical little pink orbs float around us. Carrie is fascinated. A minute later, we are dressed. Me in a pink dressy shirt, dark blue jeans, and tan knee length boots. Carrie in the exact same thing.
"Let's go then, shall we?"
We walk down the stairs.
The table holds only one plate.
"I already ate." Carrie says.
"Well then, why don't you go get a book and well go read outside." I say.
She runs of. I sit down and begin to eat. I get through about one piece of my pancake before Nate enters the room.
"Well if it isn't the little witch." He says.
I ignore him. I will not let him get the best of me.
"What are you really doing here? You're not here for a "family" visit, I know that. What are you hiding?" He says.
"Nothing. I'm hiding nothing." I say.
"Your lying, Emilia. I've known you since we were 5. I know when you lie. So tell me what are you hiding?"
I stay silent, it's not any of his business.
"You ran away, didn't you? You hiding from your perfect world of magic."
Again, I stay silent.
"Coward. But don't worry I'll keep your little secret for now." He says, as he walks of.
I wait until he's gone before I breath again. He can't possibly know what my secret is. He did know when you were lying. That's different. My mind began to wonder if Nate did know my secret. He said his lips were sealed for now. But if anyone knew Nate at this time in life, he would break his word. Sealed and Broken.

Trapped...

Emilia's POV

I continued to see faces. Grotesque faces. They scared me. They spoke and wept of guilt. And each time I saw a face, I began to feel more and more guilty. I saw my parents' faces. My mother's face was stern and stricken at the same time. My father looked upon me with hatred.
"Mother, Father, it's me Emilia." I said.
"Who's Emilia? Do we know you?" My mother looked at me confused.
"I'm Emilia. Your daughter." I said.
They still seemed confused on who I was. The worse possible thing imaginable was that your own parents don't remember you.
"Oh yes. That piece of scum that I gave birth to. I remember a little to well." My mother's eyes were as cold as Alaska.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I failed you." I say.
"You should be. I expected more out of you. Everyday, you continue to waste your potential more and more." My father said.
I words stung my skin and my heart. Disapproval from those you love more than anything, hurts more than any other. Suddenly, they began shouting at me.
"...pathetic little girl."
"I hate you, you never helped me at all."
"Nobody wants you."
"Who could ever love you?"
"Stop it!" I shouted. I began to crumple as they shouted.
When I looked up again, they were gone. Instead standing in front of me was Sonya.
"You left me Emilia. I hate you!"
My mind was filled with images of all the people I loved. They hated me. Coward, they called me. Demon sent from the deepest parts of damnation. It pierced my skin. Until then, I saw Elias.
"You abandoned us. For what? Your stupid school for freaks?" He said.
"No. Never,I would never leave you guys. It was an opportunity I couldn't afford to turn down. I was going to be free." I said.
"Free? Free of who? Us? You abandoned us and your just making up reasons to justify it."
"That's not true. I care about you guys."
"Then were do your loyalties lie? With those you share blood. Your pathetic sister, Sonya? Or those who understand you? Your kinswomen. You can't have both. You'all have to chose."
However, the voice didn't belong to Elias but Azarius.
Then, he appeared. He looked more malicious than ever.
"Chose. Chose or someone will pay the price for your stupidity. I will contact you again Emilia, and when I do you will have a choice to make. Chose wisely." He said as he disappeared into a faint trace of fog. I had a choice to make. But I couldn't. I was trapped.
I awoke gasping and spulterring for air.

Nate...

"It's alright, Carrie." I say.
"You shouldn't comfort her. Comfort, Love they are for the weak." Nate says.
He leaves the room. I hold Carrie close to my chest. I rock gently back and forth.
It seems like several hours later, when Carrie falls asleep.
"Were is her room?" I ask Elias. He points to up stairs. I pick up Carrie and follow him to her room.
All of Carrie's walls are bare except for pictures of Elias, me, and Nate.  I smile.
I lay Carrie in her bed. Pulling the covers up to her chin. I kiss her head softly.
"Goodnight, Carrie. Sweet Dreams." I whisper.
I exit the room.
"What happened to him, Elias?" I say.
He stays silent.
"Elias, obviously something happened. Carrie just cried herself to sleep at the presence of her brother. What happened to all of you?"
"Follow me and I'll tell you everything." He says taking me by the hand. He leads me to a small room. It's his bedroom, I think.
I sit down on the bed.
"After you left to were ever you went. Nate began to change for the worst. He would keep to himself and pull away from me and Carrie. He would spend all of his time in his room. Then, he started to be more violent. He was constantly getting into fights." Elias says.
"Why when I left?" I ask.
"I believe it was because he missed you. He wanted attention from us and mostly you." He says.
He's in love with me, I think. It's not possible. Is it? I had known him for a long time. We did have a deep emotional bond that not a lot of people had. But love, I think that is a little extreme. Nate however was known for taking risks and exploring the unknown. Was it that impossible that he had chosen to fall in love with me? I guess not.
"Where did you go anyway?" Elias asks.
I begin to tell him great extravagant tales of my life. I told him about West Ville and Sonya. And the best part about Elias, is that he believed you no matter what. It made it easier. He just kept shaking his head and laughing. It made me laugh too. We had changed so much over the past 6 years, we were almost unrecognizable to each other. But sharing our memories with each other was like being reacquainted with the other. Stranger meeting stranger. It was beautiful.
Eventually, we forgot about Nate and the threat he posed to us. It was just us, nothing mattered. Almost nothing. The night was dawning on us and we were falling, falling into the night's peaceful arms. I was vaguely aware that Elias was next to me. All I wanted was to sleep. And in that moment I gave up on staying awake. I just began to dream. But, the dreams were not sweet and peaceful as they should have been, instead they were terrifying and gory. Grotesque and monotonous. They never seemed to end. I slipped into the satanic void fearing what laid ahead.

The Middleton's....

Emilia's POV

I orbed to the closest place, that I could be safe. To my old family, the Middleton's. I had kept in contact with them through letters. Now, it was time to see if they still kept me close, close enough were they would let me stay with them for sometime. I found myself drifting back to when I'd first met them.

I was a small 5 year old with not much fat on me. I had just been kicked out of my foster home for the 3rd time. I was sent to Mary- Beth's Home for Children. I wandered through the bare hallways very lonely. All of the sudden I heard voices and shouting. I turned to find the source of the noise.
The voices belonged to an older woman and a small boy about 7. The boy was holding a handful of bread. The woman was shouting and pointing at the bread.
"You've already had your bread for the day! Now give me that slice you stupid rodent." She shouted.
"Please Miss, it's for my little sister and brother. They are starving. If you please just let me give it to them."
"No. That bread stays here. Give it to me now!"
She leaned in and grabbed for the bread, almost successfully getting it. Except for, I stepped on her foot as hard as I possibly could for the age of 5.
The woman yelped. And dropped the bread. I caught it and handed it to the boy. He grinned.
"Enough you pesky rodents. You, no food for you for a week." She said pointing directly at me.
I did what any decent child would do when a adult threatened them, I spit right in her face.
She shrieked again. I grabbed the boy out of there.
We just stared at each other for a while.
"You didn't have to do that you know."
"I know. But you needed that bread for your family more than that evil witch did."
"Thank you," he says. I nod.
"Oh, I'm Elias by the way. Elias Middleton." He says.
"I'm Emilia, Emilia Vanquek." I say in a small voice.
"C'mon," he says gesturing me to follow.
He leads me through several hallways. Then, it to a small room. In the room, I see a boy my age and a little girl about 2.
"Welcome to the family." Elias says. Leading me towards my new family.

I knock on the door of the mansion. They've done well, I think.
The sound of footsteps coming towards the door startles me out of the thought. The door opens cautiously. A girl pokes her head out. Her blonde hair is longer and more fine then, the last time I've seen it. Her cool, sea blue eyes are startled and excited at the same time.
"Millie!" She shouts wrapping her arms around me.
"My dear Carrie, oh how you've grown." I say.
I hear more footsteps coming. I see through the open door, Elias. Elias with his dark brown hair and his chocolate brown eyes. He's older now, and more muscular.
"Emilia, what a surprise, please come in." He says smiling.
I nod and me and Carrie go inside.
"I've missed you so much." She says, looking up at me and beaming.
"And I have missed you to. And look how much you've grown. How old are you anyway?" I ask.
"Guess." She says simply.
"Let me think. 9? 10? 12?" I say.
"Nope. 14."
"14? My your practically the woman of the family."
Wow, 14. I've been gone 6 years. So much has changed.
Carrie giggles.
"Now, were's your grump of a brother?" I ask.
"Huh? Oh you mean Nate? He's lurking somewhere."
"I see."
Carrie has me sit on the couch. She sits on my lap. I stroke her hair.
"Will you tell me stories of your life?" She asked.
"Of course. Tales of dragons, fairies, and magic?"
She shakes her head with excitement.
A cold breeze seems to fill the room. It's nothing just ignore it. I look over at Elias, he's smiling as I talk to Carrie.
"Stop acting like such a baby Carissa. Get of her lap." A cold threatening voice pierces through the happiness.
I look up next to Elias and see a tall blonde haired boy. Nate.
"Hello, Nate." I say.
Carrie winces as she sits next to me on the couch.
Nate's stormy gray eyes haunt me as I try to comfort Carrie.
"Emilia." He says.
And my stomach does somersaults as it tries to get away from Nate's evil gaze.

Alone... (Emilia/Sonya's Story)

Emilia's POV

The wetness on my cheeks alerts me that I'm crying again. Seeing Sonya and Marvin come after me like they did, reminds me of the old days. And I find myself going back to the days when things were perfect. At least as perfect for us as they could have been.
"Z! Wait up!" I shout to Zanabell. I was 11 again when I was first at West ville Academy. Zanabell, Marvin, and I wanted to go to on a picnic in the woods. School wasn't canceled at all, we just needed a break.
West Ville was tough on kids, they were always trying to get us to our full potential. As usual we were being our usual rebellious selves.
When we got to the valley we just ran and ran around. Not caring if anyone saw us. Just feeling weightless and free. I just let my hair blow in the wind.
We basked in the sunlight. Just us. Our own family. Together. Always and Forever.

Friend? Or Enemy?

He reaches to pick up his arrows. I help him. I pay close attention as he sticks his hand into his pocket, and pulls out a handkerchief. He wipes the arrows on it with out getting the gooey insides on his hands.
"Your lucky I came along when I did." He says.
I seem to ignore his question with my own anxieties about the strange snakes.
"What were they?" I ask.
"Those were Drapers. Nasty little critters, aren't they. They have poisonous fangs that kill you in 3 seconds flat."
My heart races. They could have killed me. He could have killed me, I think. But he didn't, he saved you, said the crystalized voice. There is still a chance he will, another part of me argued.
Before I'd realized it, Byron was done and was staring at me.
"I should get going." I say uncomfortably.
I turn to leave, pack in hand.
"Wait. You should come with me. I mean I would enjoy your company." He says.
"I don't think I should, I'm rather busy at the moment."
"Please, join me. It looks like your terribly exhausted. You could use some rest. Can't you do your important thing tomorrow morning after some well earned rest?" He asks.
I ponder this for a moment. I am very exhausted, I think. It would be rude to turn him down on such a generous offer. He did just save your life to. Plus, he's very handsome and it looks like he fancies you, the crystal voice came as a cool summer's breeze. Shut up, I told it. What about Ash? I asked it.
What about him, he's never made a move on you or told you he likes you. But what if he does? What if he just hasn't got around to telling me yet? If he really does have feelings for you, then why is he so scared to show it? What is he afraid of? Rejection? That you will return the feelings? If you ask me, a guy like that isn't worth the wait. He should just express his feelings with out help.
But I didn't ask you. And Ash is different.
Whatever, I just don't want you to get your feelings hurt. Besides, what are you afraid of anyway? If you are willing to criticize him, them you have to be willing to criticize yourself too.
I don't know what I'm afraid of.
"Alright," I say.
He grins.
That night, as I sleep in Byron's hammock,(because Byron's sleeping on the couch), I can't help but think of what the crystal voice said.
What am I afraid of? Rejection? No.
I think I'm afraid that Ash will feel the same way. But why? I slip into a painfully slow sleep.

Byron...( Siblings of the Forest bk.1 cont...)

After a long time of walking, I got tired. But Ash's necklace kept me going literally.  It was pulling me the direction of my siblings. Ash and his magical charms. Eventually, I think the necklace got the feeling that I needed to rest, and it stopped. The moon had come out for its regular visit to its friends the stars. The darkness enveloped the whole meeting. My eyelids were getting tired. They began to droop and cover my eyes. Wait, I thought I need to eat. I pulled out the small amount of rations that I had taken with me. I began to nibble on some beef jerky. All of sudden, I heard a hissing sound coming from above the trees. I look up. A dropping sound catches my attention and I look at the ground. A creature catches my eye. I scream. Terrified. A snake slithers towards me. Not any normal snake I'd had ever seen. It was pure silver like moon light. It also had some peculiar black designs of it's back in the shape of flowers. I freeze. The snake is getting closer and closer, until I feel it's presence in my heart's rhythmic panting.
"Stay back!" I shout.
The snake doesn't listen and if that wasn't worse, others were closing in for the kill. Great, Mom you didn't give me anything to help myself. I felt completely useless. When the snakes were within striking distance, I decided to take action. I concentrate really hard on the snakes. Get them away from me, I think. I squeeze my eye's close. The hissing is coming closer, until the snake's repulsive breath is on my face. I hear it lunge at me and then nothing. Nothing but the sound of sizzling sound, like bacon on a hot skillet. I open my eyes enough to see the snake who lunged at me turn into dust. But, there were still others to worry about. They edged closer once more, this time with more caution.
Stay back, I'm warning you. Stay back or you'll pay the ultimate price. I think. Some how, I think it is working they are retreating. That's when I see the arrows. They are every were flying at the snakes. I see several snakes dead. There is a silverish looking blood spilled all over the ground. I stare in horror. Then, I see him the boy. The boy with the fiery red hair and yellow eyes. Eyes like a lynx, a predator. And he was coming towards me. I'm dead, I think.
"You should really be more careful out here,"he said.
I just nod very nervously. He could kill you at any minute.
"I'm Byron by the way, Byron Dore." He said.
"Elizabeth, Elizabeth Clarke." I say.
And I stand there very shocked.

The Supernatural....

This is a new series that I'm writing. It's about a organization that is hunting down those with supernatural abilities. Hope you enjoy it.
The Supernatural
by: Cardi Moberly

Prologue:
The scientists gathered around the oak conference table in Holland’s Office Supplies. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of nervous finger tapping against the table. The anxious whispers echoed throughout the room. A knock banged against the door. One knock, two knock, three knock. The door slowly creaked open and revealed a man.
The man was in his late 70’s perhaps his early 80’s. He had silvery gray hair that stuck up all around his head sort of like an Albert Einstein hair do. His eyes were a cold and icy gray. He wore a pure white lab coat. His bushy mustache quivered on his lip as he just stood there listening to the mumbling of the other scientists.
“Is it true? Are there those who have more power than us?” a woman asked. “Silence! We must listen to Professor Gwendovier, he’ll answer all of our questions.” a man said. Everyone turned to look at the old professor with the cold gray eyes and Albert Einstein hair do.
“To answer all of your questions, yes they do exist.” he said. The others gasped rather loudly. Some started panicking and pacing all over. “Good gracious stop panicking. This 2026 for goodness sakes. We aren’t hopeless against them. We have our ways to make sure they don’t cause us any trouble.”
The others stopped pacing and turned towards Professor Gwendovier. “What do you have in mind, sir?” asked a small plump man.
The professor’s eyes gleamed. “We exterminate them from where they are always going to be, of course.” The scientists still looked very confused.
“We target them in their schools!” he shouted.
The scientists shook there heads in agreement. They all agreed it was the perfect idea. They would take a serum and seek out those of supernatural abilities. Then, they would be sick and the scientist would pass themselves off as doctors who are used to all kinds of sickness. Doctors, they would pretend to be doctors. They would round up all of the Supernatural and take them to Live Better Hospital. They would experiment on them and keep them under humans control. The Supernatural would not rule over them. Not today, not ever!
The scientists cheered. “We will never be dominated by those whom we call the Supernatural! We will prevail! They will have no power here, or us or anyone!” he shouted. And sure enough there evil plan worked within 6 months of their plan, they had over 4,000 Supernaturals. They all believed that they were seriously ill and so did their families. No one was any the wiser.

Siblings of the Forest con.... con... con..

I was shocked by Sirena's prophecy. Then, I remembered were I was, I was still eavesdropping on Ash. He was going to be furious if he found out. If. I dashed back to my tent and shortly after, Ash joined me. Who knew he was so fast? "How are you doing?" Ash asked. I shrugged. Ash wasn't really surprised that was my usual response. "Listen, it will be okay. We'll find them and when we do we'll punish whoever did this to you." he said. I nod and get up. I head over to my backpack. It seems like forever since I've used it.
" I can't wait that long. I need to find them now."
I turn and exit the tent. Ash's words are making me dizzy, and I can't afford to be over come by distractions manipulative hand.
"Elizabeth!" He says.  I start to speed walk fast and faster until I'm taking flight. He pulls me back.
"Wait," he says soothingly. I stop.
"You better hurry and say what you need to say." I say.
He nods. He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a beautiful silver necklace with a single milky white pearl.
"It's so beautiful."
"It is to remind you of your beauty. And to remind you of me. Were ever you go I'm with you." he says.
His nimble fingers put the necklace on me.
"Thank you." I say.
"Be careful, there are all sorts of creatures out there."
I nod. And then I'm off. I'm going to get my siblings back and nothing going to stop me.

Dangerous....

"Emilia, what are you doing here?"
"Me? What about you Sonya? You promised to not look for me."
"You should really learn to check my fingers."
I hold out my hands and show her my crossed fingers.
"Sonya, why would you do that. Can't you see I don't want to be found!" She shouts.
I feel full of sadness. Why is she yelling at me? And what does she mean she didn't want to be found?
"What do you mean?" I ask her.
"I'm too dangerous to be around."
"What are you talking about? You're the one who would never even think about harming me."
She turned to Kellie or Keltin or whoever and said, "You tell her, I can't."
Then, she turned around and left.
"Emilia! Emilia? Were are you going? Come back here!"
I start to chase after her, but Marvin pulls me back.
"Give her time," he says.
" I'm sorry about this whole thing," Keltin says.
"Just tell us what Emilia was talking about." Marvin says. He is clearly shocked to, to see Emilia like this.
Keltin nods. And starts his story. And the whole time I'm thinking why is Azarius  using this against her?

Meeting Keltin..

Where could Emilia possibly be? I needed to figure out who Emilia was taking on the trip. And where she lives. The chances of Emilia picking a boy for her companion is unthinkable. She usually sticks to the more superior gender. Now where could this person be? I decide to look at the resident files. Good thing that Amya gave me the full tour of the castle. Other wise, I would know where nothing was. I head towards the file room. A crunching noise interrupts the silence. Oh no, I look down at my feet and find a pencil. I have just stepped on a pencil. A guard turns toward the noise. I press my back against the cold stone wall. Please don't look over here, I think.
The guard goes in the other direction. Thank goodness. I begin to look through the residents. There are only a few files. The majority live at Elsa's Comfort Inn the remaining live in the Castle. I decide to go to Elsa's Inn. How'll I'll get there, I have no idea. I turn to leave and find a guard staring down at me. No, not a guard, Marvin.
"What are you doing here?" He asks.
"Trying to find Emilia. What about you?"
"Trying to stop you and if that fails then to come with you."
"You can't come."
"You can't stop me. Look Emilia is just like my little sister. And I want to find her just as much as you do."
"Fine, you can come. Do you know where Elsa's Comfort Inn is?"
"Vaguely, I think it's in that direction."
"Ok."
We follow Marvin's directions and find our selves at a small inn. The sound of a fire crackling, keeps the silence from taking over. Marvin opens the door. A short receptionist sits on top of a pile of books. Her hair is magenta and her eyes are a shade of beady brown. Her glasses are shoved up against her face and her nose appears tiny. Her age is on the older side, but not to old.
"May I help you?" She says.
"Yes, have you by any chance seen this girl?" I ask.
I pull out a small photograph of me and Emilia from last year. We are making crazy faces, but it's the only picture I have at the moment.
"Why yes indeed I have. She went with someone up to room 321."
"Can we have a name?" Marvin asks.
"Yes, yes. Know where is that darn book of rooms."
She diggs around until she has found a humongous book, filled with billions of pages. There are sections with the room number labeled on them. It's from recent to old. She finds the tab labeled 321 and flips through it. Finally, she comes to a stop.
"Yes, yes. The room is currently occupied by Kellie Valtillion."
She then closes the massive book and sets it in its correct spot.
"Is that all the information you needed?"
I nod. And we head towards the stairs. There are millions if rails of stairs. We follow the rail which reads 300-324. We'll find Emilia soon enough. When we reach room 321, I pause. Here goes nothing. I knock sharply on the door hoping it will get someone's attention. A boy with chestnut brown hair answers. Definitely not Kellie Valtillion.
"Can I help you?" He says.
"Yea. I demand you give me back my sister this instant!"
"And who might your sister be?"
"Sonya?" Emilia says as she comes toward the door.

Emilia...

Sonya's POV
I sit staring at the clock. I'm worried about Emilia, she hasn't come back and it has been 3 hours. It isn't like her. Something must have gone wrong with the meeting. I'd never met Bubbles before, maybe he took longer than she'd expected. I was tempted to go to Aria or Amya, they could help. But, Emilia probably told them not to go after her. Emilia and her stupid clever planning. I can't take it any more, I have to go after her. I hear a soft knock on the door.
"Sonya?" Aria says.
"What?"
"Just checking in on you. You should sleep."
"Yea. Sure."
"Don't worry about Emilia. She strong, and she can definitely handle herself. She'll be back before you know it."
"I know."
I climb into the bed. Aria pulls the covers up over me. I nestle my head into my pillow and shut my eyes. I pretend to sleep.
"Good night, Sonya."
She leaves the room.
I get out of the bed and rush to get my back pack. There are only so many places she could be and I'm going to find her.

Bubbles...

"What do you need my help with?"Keltin asked.
I told him about my dream. His face got paler and paler as I continued with my story.
"And you want me to help you? I just met you."
"I know this is a little sudden, but I couldn't think of anyone else to go with me."
This conversation is getting awkwarder as we continue to talk.
"Okay, I'll go with you. But how are we supposed to contact this Bubbles guy?"
"I'll summon him when we are in a safe place."
Keltin nodded. He grabs his jacket.
"Let's go meet Bubbles." He says.
We leave and head of into the woods. We hear the steady trickle of a nearby stream. I stop.
"We'll do it here."
I take out a knife and some herbs and a small pot.
I place the herbs in the pot, and set it on fire with my hand.
I took the knife and cut my hand, and muttered a spell.
"Powers of the seers that rise
Their course unseen across our skies,
Come to us who call you near, come to us and settle here.
The blood of a royal to the eternal bond of a servant, I summon thee.
Master to servant, I ask thee to return to me."
My blood dripped into the pot. There was big splash and a puff of mist.
"Guess they don't call you guys witches for no reason." Keltin said.
"I could still curse you either way," I said laughing.
"Remind me never to get on your bad side," he hands me a rag to clean my hand with.
I nod. Suddenly, a luminescent light appeared. A small ball the color of a blueberry was there.
"Your looking for help from a ball?"
"Why does every one always think I'm a ball?" said a small squeaky voice.
"Maybe because you look like a ball." Keltin  said.
"Humph. I am a buzzu. The faithful servant of the Malvanian Royal family."
When Bubbles saw me he bowed.
"My lady."
"Hello Bubbles it has been a long time."
"Why have you called upon me? My Lady."
"Bubbles I have talked to Azarius. I want to know what he meant when he said I was under his control."
"Your mother told me this day would come."
"Are you going to tell us or not?" Keltin  said.
"Yes of course. When your mother was pregnant with you. There were complications. You were having medical problems. You were going to die. So, to save you, they went to all magical and non magical creatures and asked them to give up some of their powers and blood to help you. They agreed."
"Why would they do that?" I asked.
"Well, the same thing had happened before with your grandmother, Clarissa so they thought it would help you like it did to her."
"But why?"
"It was the only way. So, naturally you already have lots of powers even more than your grandmother. Because unlike Clarissa's potion, yours had Azarius's blood in it. So, he can control you."
"Did my parents know that his blood was in my potion?"
"No, no one knew until it was to late. They thought they would raise you to follow the right, so he couldn't get to you. But you know that they died before they could."
"Thank you for telling me Bubbles. You may go now."
He nods. And dissapears into a silvery blue light. The information is overwhelming. I feel like I'm going to faint. Keltin  catches me as I fall to the ground. He supports me as we walk back to the inn. Now I know Azarius is going to use me to get to everyone else. I can't be trusted. I can't go back to Sonya, I'm a danger to the world.
